Anxiously waiting with passport in my mom's hand, we were unsure if she would be able to fly.
It has been a stressful week for the family. She wanted to go on the trip and then she changed her mind. Thinking about how my dad and her grandsons would react.
My dad, gentle but firm, looked at her and said, “You should go. You’ve spent your whole life caring for everyone else. Go see  and experience something new.”
The day before we were supposed to leave, I had trouble buying another ticket. The airline wouldn't take another reservation. I had to gamble on another websites that seemed sketchy. I started to wonder if my mom would still make this flight?
